Sometimes it's worth the effort to check out stores that are a short drive away. I found The Coral Reef in the Yahoo Yellow Pages and figured I would take the hour drive. It was well worth it! What a nice store!

The first thing I noticed when I went in was how clean and neat the store was. Ginny (the future Mrs) was with me. We felt right at home when both Linda and Dave Jensen welcomed us to their place. The next thing I noticed and quite frankly was amazed by was how nice all the rows of aquariums looked. I wouldn't mind having any of them sitting in my living room.

They all looked really nice and were very clean. They have 3 "walls" of aquariums, with both salt and freshwater fish. I looked closely and couldn't see even one sick looking tank or fish! VERY NICE!! The Coral Reef also has live plants (they look very good too) and Pond fish and supplies.

It was tank cleaning day when I stopped by yesterday. I had just missed an "open house" tour by a local girl Scout troop. Nice touch Dave!
I never leave empty handed. Twice I ordered 45 pound boxes of Fiji Live Rock from there. Nice price. Nice rock too! Dave goes to the airport and picks it up himself. The way I see it, the less time it spends in transport, the "livelier"(is livelier a word?) the rock will be. They keep 2 tanks with LR at the store too.

The part I like best!

2 big tanks of corals and inverts! They always have plenty to chose from! I picked up 3 more pieces for my 125 this time. If there is something you would like and don't see. just ask and Dave will try his best to get it for you. They have all the supplies you need to keep your fish Healthy and Happy.

My Opinion:

Friendly, knowledgeable Owners, a very clean store and most importantly Great Fish and Corals!
