Still More Track Expansion
I
added 2 more straightaways today. I removed 1/2 of the circle I had on the layout
and put in a new section by adding 4 pieces of outside turn. They allowed me to
create 2 jogs to run track down to a tight "Inner" turn hairpin and
back. My son and I took a ride over to NY because they had the track in stock
from a layout someone had torn down and sold them because they had setup a carrera
digital track. I had some 1/2 pieces of standard curve ordered from my RC guy,
Joe, that I was going to use there but only 1 package came in and I needed 2.
I'll get the other when it does come in because I have a plan for the other end
of the track too.
I've
decided to elevate all the track from what remains of the circle through the main
straight. Instead of having the Pit Lane under the main Straight, I'm going to
put it at the head of the Main Straight. It should make it very interesting getting
in and out of it and it will leave every driver on the inside of the turn at the
end of the long Main Straight! Yes, the N-Digital with the lane changing is going
to make racing very interesting!

I'm
going to carefully cut all the retaining walls to fit under under the straight
that has the arrow on it. I'm going to use the tops to go between the 2 straightaways,
which will be the same height when I finished elevating them. I'm going to move
that piece of landscaping up to the "circle" part(you can do that with
plaster cloth compared to paper mache'). Here are a couple pics of my cars. We
also picked up a couple cars while we were over there.
My first "Scalex"cars.
I picked up a Nissan 350Z and a Maserati
Oh,
I've been reminded 6 times now, My son Joe, who from now on will be known as
"Little
Pee Pee" wanted me to be sure to put pictures of his first ever slot car
on the internet.
It's a Ferrari 330, no Zandor, those are not "Buds"!!
Little Pee Pee has a Ferrari ordered from Joe too, and I was going
to take it but he likes this one so much he says he might want it and just put
a different # decal on it. I'd really like it the thing handles great!
