Expanding on the Right End
I
decided to add more track on the right end of the layout. I plan on elevating
that too, right through the hairpins so the drivers on the left end of the track
can see it. The center section of the layout will be the only low part.
The
longer cars had their rear wheels falling off the inside of the track if they
went around the hairpins too slow, so I cut some thin Lexan sheet and glued it
there with some support underneath.
Now I need to find a new place to keep the steady growing number of cars. Guess I'll clear off some of the old things on the shelves down on the right end.
You'll notice the retaining walls going in now. You can't see it very well in the last picture but I have a "Bridge" going over where the track passes underneath now so the exposed wood won't show.
