Flag Day 2006

School called the VA outpatient clinic where I was cooking lunches looking for
veterans to help with their Flag Day program. They got me.

You have to watch the whole video. This was one of the Proudest, most fulfilling days of my life. I'd never had so many hugs. Just when I thought I could leave they let a bunch of the kids come back because they had some things to give me and they wanted to meet me and shake my hand and thank me. I was surrounded by young people! My Dr and Case worker explained that they probably had the image of the Viet Nam vet as a Big Tough Guy with No Feelings from watching TV and Movies and I showed them it wasn't that way. When I brought the VHS I made from my digital video the next day they had the big thank you card for me. I still have it. About a week later I got a nice new "Presidents of the United States" coffee Table Book in the mail from them too(it's still in the plastic).
