Getting the Track Set Up and Testing It
The
first thing I noticed that I was unhappy with was the controllers. They don't
have a slow enough speed. They weren't too bad with the SCX Harvick car or the
Scalex Stocker with magnets but the Ninco Mosler without the magnet, it was like
a power on/off controller. Another thing I noticed right away was, the cars don't
seem to reach as high of a speed as they did before*See
Below. Maybe that was because I was running a power pack on each lane with
the analog?
*After reading a little deeper into the instructions
I discovered that, in Amature mode the power progressively increases the longer
you drive.
OK, some other questions
I've seen in the forums.....
Dead spots...I ran my 3
different car that I have chipped for 2 hours and didn't have 1 of them stop once
because of a dead spot. Why? Because I know where they would be and knew enough
to not slow down enough there to have the car stop...amazing solution isn't it?
It also helped that I have the LC tracks set up where they aren't right after
a slow turn.
Deslotting...In the 2 hours I had one because of a LC track. It was the lap after the 1st time I used the LC in the picture on the left below. I tried it 8-10 time more during the 2 hours without any more problems. I'm going to guess that the problem that 1 time may have been that the flipper didn't return because of it being new? Doesn't matter, it didn't do it again and it was the only one of the 2 hours.
Automatic Lane Changing...YES, for some reason, the LC right after the Pit Lane exit(right picture) changed by itself twice on me while I was driving WOT down the straight. Nothing became of it, I just continued on, but it did change by itself.
The Control Center
It's cool. I haven't
done anything with it yet except set it up in GP mode to run the cars in 25 lap
segments to test the track. I got a little carried away when I started getting
the "feel" of the controllers with the Scalex Stocker on the track.
Everytime you turn the fastest lap it rings and your controller vibrates. Of course
you have to try to go faster to get it to ring again.
Well 80+ feet of track
in 7.41 seconds is the time that was on the control panel when my son came over
and looked at it this afternoon. Not bad for a rookie.....I think I'll put a chalkboard
down there and put different classes up. Hell I can do even better, I've got an
extra computer and monitor! Anybody know where there might be some kind of programs
for this kind of stuff?
